I have already made the purchase myself, but based on the specs released on the official website and early user reactions, I have compiled a list of realistic conditions you must consider before buying, going beyond simple price information.
What Can You Expect from This Toy Camera?
The biggest appeal of the Godox C100 is undoubtedly its price and distinctive cyberpunk design. While it is technically a digital camera capable of both still photos and short videos, you need to understand exactly what this price point implies.
This device is not meant to produce the crisp, sharp images you get from a modern smartphone. Rather than high-resolution photography, you should approach this as a “toy camera” that captures the gritty aesthetic of old feature-phone days to truly enjoy it. It supports microSD (TF) cards up to 128GB and offers about 1.5 hours of continuous battery life per charge.

To avoid buying it on a whim only to have it collect dust in a drawer, make sure to check these three features first.
Poor Visibility in Bright Daylight

Even though it is small and weighs only 65g—perfect for street snaps—a notable downside is that you cannot disable the shutter sound. If you are looking for a sub-camera to use comfortably in quiet places like cafes or libraries, this will be a significant obstacle.

Despite these clear disadvantages, there is a reason this device is being warmly welcomed by film camera users.
The Godox C100 features a center-weighted metering function that measures light in the central 25% of the frame. When using old mechanical film cameras, you can wear this around your neck and utilize it as an excellent portable light meter.
