There’s no need to drill holes in the wall or connect long pipes like a wall-mounted unit. You don’t have to coordinate schedules with a technician; you can simply install it yourself the day it arrives.
The basic setup involves fitting the dedicated frame into the window sash and securing it with screws. Then, you just lift the main unit and click it into place. It takes me about 30 minutes from opening the box to finishing the installation on my own. Even if you aren’t comfortable with tools, the manual makes it easy enough for anyone to handle.
Reliable Cooling Performance for Small Rooms (~13m²)

Essential Tip: Check Your Drainage Environment Before Buying
The drainage issue mentioned in the cons is the most significant practical challenge. During the rainy season, when humidity exceeds 80%, water builds up quickly inside the unit. While the AC has a feature that uses heat to evaporate moisture, the rate of water accumulation often exceeds the evaporation rate on highly humid days.
After experiencing water leaking from the unit (can you see the rusty screws in the photo?), I had to take extra steps. I bought a hose from a hardware store that fits the rear drain port and connected it. Only after setting this up to drain naturally into my washing machine’s drain pipe did I finally stop worrying about water. If you are considering a purchase, please make sure your window setup allows for the proper installation of a drain hose!
A Realistic Solution for the Summer Heat
Another sweltering summer is expected this year. Thanks to this unit that has guarded a corner of my room for two years, I think I’ll be able to stay cool again this year. There are certainly downsides, such as the drainage requirements and the characteristic noise of window units.
However, if your goal is to reliably cool a single room in an environment where you cannot drill holes in the wall, it is hard to find a better alternative.
