Nikke D: Killer Wife Noodle Stopper Review, a Bold Piece for a Black Desk?
I’ve mentioned it on the blog a few times, but after installing new wooden shelves on either side of my monitor, the empty space felt a bit lacking. I already have 2B from NieR:Automata acting as the centerpiece, but I needed another object to sit on the edge of the shelf and add a sense of space. This is precisely why I often find myself gravitating toward the Noodle Stopper lineup when choosing figures.
A Familiar Game, An Unfamiliar Character
Among the Furyu Noodle Stoppers, the Miku series—which is the most common—felt too bright with its mint colors for my black desk setup. I wanted to maintain a dark mood without distracting the eyes, which narrowed my choices down to the Goddess of Victory: Nikke lineup.
To be honest, I knew the game, but I wasn’t familiar with the character’s backstory. Seeing the official name “D: Killer Wife,” I first felt like it was a subtle blend of a spy-themed killer wife, like Yor from Spy x Family, in a sleek outfit. I chose the Furyu Noodle Stopper Goddess of Victory: Nikke D: Killer Wife figure solely based on this unique vibe and the black color scheme. It brings a heavy, chic presence to my dark wooden shelf.
The Details of the D: Killer Wife Figure
The first thing that catches your eye is the face, which captures the cold yet mysterious atmosphere of the original illustration perfectly. The dark hairstyle with bangs, paired with the winking expression and a slight smile, is quite charming. The printing of the reddish eyes and the detail on the hair accessories are surprisingly clean for a budget-friendly figure under 30,000 won, which is very satisfying.
Looking slightly lower, the forward-leaning pose naturally emphasizes the volume of her upper body. The texture of the form-fitting black dress is delicately expressed through the folds in the sculpt, making the curves created by the pose look even more dramatic. It doesn’t feel overly exaggerated, and the overall proportions and balance are well-maintained, creating a stable composition on the desk.
Personally, my only complaint is the detail of the lower body. Due to the nature of her kneeling and prone pose, the boundaries are quite bold—I found myself wondering if it was really necessary to paint that line so prominently. Because of this “spicy” design, I’m genuinely worried about the aftermath if my wife catches a glimpse of it. I’ve quietly decided to seal the product box deep in the storage room just in case.
Is the Desk Setup a Success?
Although I’ve taken on a slight domestic risk, I’m very pleased with the dark mood that fills the desk shelf. I wish the dress were a slightly darker shade, but it flows smoothly with my existing gear, and it feels like the space has gained a much more solid density.
Actually, there was one more figure that caught my eye while choosing this one, so I’ve already placed an additional order. That one is scheduled to arrive a bit later, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what kind of composition it will create with 2B and D on the shelf. Haha!
