An artisan cap is one of the simplest changes I can make when I want my desk to feel different. This 4-piece LOBO Identity V set has the detailed character work that has repeatedly impressed me with the brand. It also gives me distinct choices rather than the same mood in different colors. Seer and Mercenary look at home on a basic black or white board. Gardener and Perfumer are the ones I’d put on a brighter, more colorful case to carry their character through the setup.
I noticed dust after finishing the photos. Retaking the whole set felt like too much work, so I’ve left those shots in place. The dust is particularly obvious on the darker cap, but I hope the design details are still clear enough to judge.
Seer: A Clean White Accent
Seer provides the clean white option in the set. The gold detailing on the blindfold and the neatly braided hair remain clear when viewed closely. The surface has a soft, matte finish that feels pleasant under the finger during typing. It also avoids a bright reflection directly under a desk light. On the ESC position of a white or silver case, it gives the board a finished accent without disturbing the restrained palette.
Mercenary: Dark and Understated
Mercenary uses dark gray for a quieter, more substantial look. That color also shows the dust in my photos rather clearly. The “Jack” lettering on the hat and the characteristic cross-button eyes are well represented. A black or charcoal board makes a natural match, with enough contrast for the character to register. I did worry about the brim extending toward surrounding keys. Trying it while typing revealed a slight unfamiliar sensation, so the concern wasn’t entirely imaginary.
Gardener: Pink and Pastel Detail
Gardener is the cheerful, pastel-colored character of the set. The contrast between the pink ribbon and blue button eyes makes me smile whenever I look at it. Lace around the hat and the sculpted hair add enough detail to brighten a plain board. I’d pair this one with a yellow or pink case to carry that mood through the whole setup. The decoration is wider at the sides, though. On a board with narrow gaps or bezels, think about the intended position before fitting it.
Perfumer: Red and Gold
Perfumer is my favorite of the four. Strong red and gold make the initial impression, followed by the lip color, glasses, and the flower above her head. The hair is especially finely rendered; to my eye, it is the best detail work in the set. A board with burgundy or red accents would let the colors fit together as a set. This is the one I’d choose when I wanted a more elaborate focal point instead of a quiet addition to a monochrome board.
A Little Character on the Desk
There are small shortcomings if you inspect the LOBO Identity V set closely, including molding marks and minor paint smudges. For the price, I’m satisfied with the character likenesses and the overall finish. A keyboard is something I use continually, so I enjoy letting it show a little personal taste rather than treating it only as an input device. A cap glimpsed during typing can add that small moment of enjoyment without changing the whole setup.
