AliExpress sales can make replacement IEM cables affordable to try. NICEHCK’s Fall feels different from the brand’s earlier cables: substantial and rugged rather than decorative. Its autumnal name might suggest something soft and understated, but in the hand, this is a solid piece of equipment. I wanted to hear whether it could give my existing earphones a firmer foundation.

A Rugged and Reliable First Impression
Deep copper wire and gunmetal hardware give it a substantial look. The 18.6 AWG ultra-high-purity single-crystal copper uses a dual-layer coaxial arrangement intended to shield against outside noise. The plug feels precisely finished, with snug gold-plated components and proprietary silver-solder terminals. The low-resistance design made me curious about whether I’d hear a quicker, more defined response when listening.

Different Philosophy and Build from EarlOFC
Putting NICEHCK’s EarlOFC and Fall beside each other makes their different priorities easy to see. The former emphasizes a soft, flexible wire and lighter handling. Fall uses a more substantial dual-layer coaxial construction, and despite looking about the same thickness, it weighs roughly 20% more. The gunmetal plugs reinforce that mechanical appearance, rather than the quieter, tidier impression of the other cable. My listening impressions follow a similar contrast. I hear this design leaning toward closely packed density, where its sibling feels more flexible and understated. That difference in character is more interesting than treating them as interchangeable cables from the same maker.

Sound Changes with the SoftEars Studio 4
I usually test cable sound using the SoftEars Studio 4. Because its sound signature is so flat and dry, it is very sensitive to changes. After connecting the Fall cable, I felt the sound density became noticeably tighter. Thanks to the fast response time typical of low-resistance pure copper, the contours of the sound felt much cleaner. I liked how the mid-range vocals didn’t sound too thin, while the added density characteristic of copper wire enhanced the experience. However, if you prefer the sharp analytical ability of precise monitoring, the slight warming of the sound might be a minor drawback. It retains the dry nature of the Studio 4 while injecting a bit of warmth and sharper outlines.

Synergy with the Tears IEM
I also paired it with the Tears IEM, which NICEHCK suggests is a great match. Tears naturally offers a wide soundstage and a cool, airy sound; adding this cable grounded the sound, making the center feel more stable. It doesn’t sacrifice high-end resolution, yet it manages to suppress harsh sibilance, which I found to be a great tuning choice. The sound becomes richer overall without muddying the background, likely due to the effectiveness of the dual-layer shielding. While that richness can sometimes feel heavy on certain tracks—slightly reducing the “lightness” of the sound—the improved response time makes the overall performance feel more lively.
The NICEHCK Fall leaves me with the impression of a practical cable that supports an earphone’s underlying character rather than trying to deliver a spectacular transformation. With an accurate but slightly cool pair such as the Studio 4, I found it useful for making the presentation feel more familiar and gentle. With the Tears, the attraction was a little more depth and density in a texture I already knew. These are subtle listening impressions, but they fit the substantial character of the cable itself. Its serious autumnal coloring seems appropriate to the weight I hear in the presentation. At a reasonable price, it is worth considering if you are looking for a pure-copper cable for regular use.
