NICEHCK Fall Review: Pure Copper Cable for Sound Clarity

During AliExpress sales, custom cables often become excellent value-for-money upgrades. After testing the latest cable from NICEHCK, the Fall, I felt it took a different direction compared to their previous offerings. Unlike the emotional imagery suggested by its name, the physical product is surprisingly rugged and solid. It feels less like a flashy accessory and more like a tool designed to provide a substantial boost to the existing weaknesses of your gear.

Comparing it to another NICEHCK product, the EarlOFC, highlights interesting differences. While the EarlOFC uses a standard thickness with soft, flexible wire focused on usability, the Fall stands out with its heavy, dual-layer coaxial build. Although the cables appear similar in diameter, the Fall is about 20% heavier. Unlike the subtle and clean feel of the EarlOFC, the Fall’s gunmetal plugs provide a more mechanical and robust impression. The way they render sound is also a contrast, with the Fall prioritizing dense, tight resolution over flexibility.

Sound Changes with the SoftEars Studio 4

I usually test cable sound using the SoftEars Studio 4. Because its sound signature is so flat and dry, it is very sensitive to changes. After connecting the Fall cable, I felt the sound density became noticeably tighter. Thanks to the fast response time typical of low-resistance pure copper, the contours of the sound felt much cleaner. I liked how the mid-range vocals didn’t sound too thin, while the added density characteristic of copper wire enhanced the experience. However, if you prefer the sharp analytical ability of precise monitoring, the slight warming of the sound might be a minor drawback. It retains the dry nature of the Studio 4 while injecting a bit of warmth and sharper outlines.

Synergy with the Tears IEM

I also paired it with the Tears IEM, which NICEHCK suggests is a great match. Tears naturally offers a wide soundstage and a cool, airy sound; adding this cable grounded the sound, making the center feel more stable. It doesn’t sacrifice high-end resolution, yet it manages to suppress harsh sibilance, which I found to be a great tuning choice. The sound becomes richer overall without muddying the background, likely due to the effectiveness of the dual-layer shielding. While that richness can sometimes feel heavy on certain tracks—slightly reducing the “lightness” of the sound—the improved response time makes the overall performance feel more lively.

The NICEHCK Fall is less about “flashy” sound and more about providing a solid foundation for your gear. It is a highly practical tool for making neutral, slightly cold earphones like the Studio 4 feel more familiar and smooth. It is also an excellent alternative for those who want to deepen the texture of their Tears earphones. Like the heavy colors of autumn, this cable carries a serious, refined weight in its sound.
