Pros of the ASUS ROG Azoth X

ASUS ROG Azoth X white custom keyboard design

Distinctive Design and Keycaps

The white case and Stella-themed PBT caps give the board its distinctive appearance. Translucent sides on the caps let RGB illumination spread across the design, rather than leaving the light confined to a few small points. For a desk where appearance matters as well as the functions, that combination is one of the main reasons this version stands out.

OLED Display & 3-Way Knob

The OLED at the upper right puts useful information directly on the keyboard: system details, battery status, and custom animation are all part of what it can show in real time. A 3-way knob and side button sit beside it for volume and lighting adjustments. The appeal is having both the display and a direct physical control in the same part of the board.

Tri-Mode Connectivity & Long Battery Life

USB, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth give it the flexibility to work with different devices instead of a single connection type. The especially long battery figure needs its condition attached: up to 1,600 hours is with both RGB and the OLED switched off. Leaving those visual features unused is the trade-off behind that reduced need to connect a charging cable.

Included Silicone Wrist Rest

The supplied silicone wrist rest is soft but still supportive. I appreciated not needing to begin another search for a separate palm rest that matched the board. Having it in the box makes that part of putting the setup together less tiring, especially when the keyboard’s appearance is already a reason for choosing it.

Cons of the ASUS ROG Azoth X

Steep Price Tag

A price approaching 400,000 KRW (about $300) is a substantial barrier, even in a category where gaming equipment often costs a lot. Someone new to custom keyboards has good reason to hesitate before that commitment. It is also a difficult starting point for a gamer or ordinary user whose main priority is getting the most practical benefit for the money.

Spacebar Sound Profile

The spacebar has silicone inside to reduce ringing, but its result isn’t completely uniform with the other keys. It makes a noticeably stronger thud. That isn’t the same as uncontrolled case resonance, yet it does interrupt the consistency of the typing sound. For someone attentive to how a board sounds across the whole layout, it is a compromise worth remembering.

Requires an Extra Accessory

Using the full 8,000Hz polling rate requires the separately sold ROG Polling Rate Booster.

So, Should You Buy the ASUS ROG Azoth X?

  • If you are a gamer looking to dive into custom keyboards:
It provides the feel and range of features associated with a custom keyboard without asking you to go through the complicated assembly process first. That makes it a possible entry point if gaming is already your interest and building a board isn’t.

  • If you are an ASUS fan:
The distinctive look, gaming emphasis, and familiar brand styling make it an option for someone specifically drawn to the ROG approach.

  • If the price makes you hesitate:
I’d compare promotional and used prices before buying. That gives the same purchase decision more room to fit a budget instead of assuming the full initial price is the only route.
